Amendment to the Local Rules

The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia amended its Local Rules effective today.

Local Civil Rule 7.1 was amended to include a requirement that, in every civil case where jurisdiction is based on diversity of citizenship, a disclosure statement be filed by every party identifying the citizenship of each individual or entity whose citizenship is attributable to that party. This proposed amendment is consistent with the amendment to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 7.1 that also became effective on December 1, 2022.
