Take Our Kids to Work Day 2019
United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia
Organized by volunteers from Chambers, the Clerk’s Office, U.S. Probation Office, and U.S. Marshals Service, and co-sponsored by FBA-NOVA, this event is designed to give children a glimpse into their parents’ working world and an understanding of the many facets of a federal courthouse.

WHO
Recommended for 2nd-12th graders. K-1st graders may participate only if accompanied by an adult. Other parents may attend if volunteering (see below).
WHAT
Exciting and informative presentations from judges, lawyers, probation officers, marshals, and courthouse staff. See program schedule for more information.
WHEN
The program will run from 8:15am to 3:15pm. Parents are asked to arrive on time to expedite registration check-in and return by 3:00pm to facilitate pick-up.
WHERE
Registration check-in and the closing ceremony will both take place in the Jury Assembly Room on the third floor of the Albert V. Bryan Federal Courthouse.
COST
The registration fee is $10 per child to help cover the cost of keepsakes. A fee waiver is available upon request (please see below).
FORMS
An Excused Absence Form is available to download. However, please consult with your child’s school to determine their excused-absence policy.
Volunteer
Due to space limitations, we are unable to accommodate all parents who wish to observe the programming.
If you would like to remain with your child(ren) during some or all of the program, we ask that you sign up as a parent volunteer using the form below.
Register
Registration fees are nonrefundable. If you would like to request a fee waiver, or have any questions about the program, please contact the Program Co-Chair.
